What you can do with T:0 MCP

Once T:0 is connected, your agent can read your live financials and work from them directly. That changes what’s worth asking. The useful questions aren’t lookups, they’re the ones that would otherwise mean exporting to a spreadsheet and losing an afternoon.

A few examples:

• Can you build a first draft of my quarterly board update based on my financials?

Why most accounting MCP servers fall short

Behind the scenes, MCP is a set of tools that your AI agent can use to respond to your questions and requests. We’ve heard from countless customers that they’ve tried using MCP with their traditional accounting software platforms and weren’t able to do anything meaningful with them.

This is because most MCP servers from traditional finance platforms are thin layers around their existing platform tools (or APIs) built over 10 years ago. These tools/APIs were originally designed for use-cases around ERP implementation and integration with third party tools for data analysis (e.g. FP&A or BI). They were never meant to be used for the kind of ad-hoc, real-time analysis and workflows that AI agents can now do.

Built for agents from day one

We built the T:0 MCP tools/APIs to be AI-era ready from day 1. Our internal AI agents were the first users of the tools/APIs that now power our external MCP. Through improving our AI agent, we’ve also iterated on our APIs to make them faster, more comprehensive, and easier to understand to agents.

This means that the T:0 MCP server fits seamlessly into any AI agent that wants to analyze data or take action on our platform.

Built to be interoperable

Many traditional platforms were built in an era where they were incentivized to lock users into a closed ecosystem to capture more of their time and value. In many cases, they actively want to handicap the effectiveness of their external facing tools/APIs.

We know customers in the AI era have more third-party options and can build custom software internally easier than ever. T:0 is built to work seamlessly in this new reality, and as part of that, have built our T:0 product to be as interoperable as possible with as many other tools as possible.
